Speak No Evil is the sixth album by Wayne Shorter. It was released in June 1966 by Blue Note Records. The music combines elements of hard bop and modal jazz, and features Shorter on tenor saxophone, trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Ron Carter and drummer Elvin Jones. The cover photo is of Shorter's first wife, Teruko (Irene) Nakagami, whom he met in 1961.
The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions is a four-disc box set of music recordings by trumpeter Miles Davis. The set collects all tracks Davis recorded between August 19, 1969 and February 6, 1970, including the 1970 double album Bitches Brew in its entirety. However, the title of the box set is somewhat of a misnomer: outside of the Bitches Brew tracks themselves, none of the other tracks were recorded during the same August 1969 sessions that resulted in Bitches Brew. Furthermore, additional material recorded for, but not used in Bitches Brew, is not included in this set.
The Complete In a Silent Way Sessions is a three-disc box set by trumpeter Miles Davis released by Legacy Records, featuring recordings from the sessions that would produce his 1969 album In a Silent Way as well as transitional pieces from the era. Besides two tracks previously released on the 1968 album Filles de Kilimanjaro, the set also includes material for Columbia outtake compilations Water Babies, Circle in the Round, and Directions. The box set features previously unreleased music, mostly from the In a Silent Way sessions proper. As well as the CDs, it includes essays by Michael Cuscuna and Bob Belden and details of the recording sessions. It is number five in the Legacy series of Miles Davis' Complete Sessions box sets.
Tones for Joan's Bones is the first solo album by American jazz pianist Chick Corea, recorded in 1966 but not released until 1968 on Vortex Records, a subsidiary of Atlantic. It features Corea with tenor saxophonist Joe Farrell, trumpeter Woody Shaw, bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Joe Chambers.

The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions were recorded in April 1970 by Miles Davis, and released in September 2003. These sessions formed the basis for the 1971 album Jack Johnson, as well as some of the studio portions of Live-Evil.

Chick Corea (1941–2021) was an American jazz pianist and composer born on June 12, 1941, in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Chick started learning piano at age four. He recorded his first album in 1966 with Tones For Joan's Bones. Corea performed with Blue Mitchell, Willie Bobo, Cal Tjader, and Herbie Mann in the mid-1960s. In the late 1960s, he performed with Stan Getz and Miles Davis. He became a role model for many young jazz pianists of the 1970s. He is often ranked with Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett as one of the most important pianists to appear after Bill Evans and McCoy Tyner, and he composed such prominent jazz standards as "Spain", "La Fiesta", and "Windows".
Sundance is the fourth album recorded by Chick Corea. It was recorded in 1969 but not issued until 1972 on the Groove Merchant label. Like his previous album, it features trumpeter Woody Shaw, tenor saxophonist Bennie Maupin, flautist Hubert Laws, bassist Dave Holland and drummers Jack DeJohnette and Horace Arnold. In 2002, Blue Note re-released all of Corea’s 1969 sessions, including this album, together with all the tracks from Is as The Complete "Is" Sessions.
Moto Grosso Feio is the thirteenth album by Wayne Shorter, recorded in 1970 but not released on the Blue Note label until 1974. The album features four originals by Shorter and an arrangement of "Vera Cruz" by Milton Nascimento. Some of the musicians include guitarist John McLaughlin, bassist/cellist Ron Carter, bassist Dave Holland, percussionist Airto and drummers Jack DeJohnette and Micheline Pelzer.
Captain Marvel is a jazz album by saxophonist Stan Getz released in 1974 on the Columbia Records label. The album features performances by Getz with Chick Corea, who composed most of the material, Stanley Clarke, Airto Moreira and Tony Williams. Shortly before recording this album Corea, Clarke and Moreira had formed the core of the group Return to Forever, and Captain Marvel shares the Latin jazz and jazz fusion sound that Corea was exploring in this era.

Bitches Brew Live is a live album by Miles Davis. The album was released in February 2011 and contains material compiled from two concert performances. Most of the songs on the album originally appeared on Bitches Brew. The first three tracks were recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival in July 1969, nine months before the release of Bitches Brew, while the rest of the album was recorded at 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. The three cuts from Newport -- "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down," "Sanctuary," and "It's About That Time/The Theme" —- were previously unreleased at the time and have since been reissued on the "At Newport 1955-1975" volume of the Sony Bootleg series. This recording marks the first known time that "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" was professionally recorded. The final six cuts appeared on the "Miles Electric" DVD in video form and the audio portion was included in the box set Miles Davis: The Complete Columbia Album Collection. A seventeen-minute segment appeared under the title "Call It Anything" on the "First Great Rock Festivals Of The Seventies: Isle Of Wight/Atlanta Pop Festival" compilation album in 1971.
Is is the third studio album by Chick Corea, released in 1969 on Solid State Records. It features Corea with trumpeter Woody Shaw, tenor saxophonist Bennie Maupin, flautist Hubert Laws, bassist Dave Holland and drummers Jack DeJohnette & Horace Arnold. In 2002, Blue Note Records re-released all tracks from this album, together with 1969's Sundance, along with alternate takes from both albums as The Complete "Is" Sessions.
Inner Space is a compilation album of Chick Corea music released by Atlantic Records in 1973. The album contains all four tracks from Corea's 1968 debut album, Tones for Joan's Bones as well as two previously unreleased tracks from the same recording sessions and two tracks originally released on Hubert Laws' 1969 LP Laws' Cause.
The Vigil is an album recorded by Chick Corea and released sixth of August 2013. In the Billboard Jazz albums charts the album peaked at number 4. The album won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album at the 15th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.
Mágico: Carta de Amor is a live album by saxophonist Jan Garbarek, guitarist Egberto Gismonti and bassist Charlie Haden recorded in 1981 and released on the ECM label in 2012. The album follows the trio's first two recordings Magico (1979) and Folk Songs (1981).
Live in Europe 1969: The Bootleg Series Vol. 2 is a 3 CD + 1 DVD live album of the Miles Davis Quintet featuring saxophonist Wayne Shorter, pianist Chick Corea, bassist Dave Holland, and drummer Jack DeJohnette. This particular line-up became known as "The Miles Davis Lost Quintet" as it did not record in the studio in this configuration. The CDs contain recordings of two concerts in France and one in Sweden and the DVD has an additional concert recorded in Germany.
Forever is a double CD album of live acoustic recordings recorded in California, Tokyo and Seattle in 2009 by the Return to Forever pianist Chick Corea, bass player Stanley Clarke and drummer Lenny White and studio rehearsals with guests Jean-Luc Ponty, Bill Connors and Chaka Khan. It was released on the Concord label I 2011.
